Michigan Staff Hints At Big Commitment!

Chris Partridge from the University of Michigan Staff sent this tweet tonight.

The video is a clip from “Rocky” which was a movie based in Philadelphia, I’m guessing here but it appears Partridge is hinting at a possible commitment from the Philly area.

I could be the nations top Tight End Prospect, Philadelphia Imhotep 2016 recruit Naseir Upshur. The 6-2, 238-pounder is the No. 4 player nationally at his position (and No. 63 overall), and the second-best rising senior in Pennsylvania. He’s also been to U-M once before, and made his second visit this weekend.

If it is true, it’s a HUGE “get” for Michigan.

Great info here from Steve Lorenz on Rashan Gary’s visit to Ann Arbor.  Gary is the nation’s # 1 recruit.

Michigan Lands Another HUGE Commitment

Michigan picked up another big recruit today in 4 Star DE Ron Johnson.

Johnson is a 6-3, 221-pound four-star ranked the No. 6 weakside defensive end nationally, the No. 109 overall player in the country, and the fifth-best player in New Jersey. He becomes Michigan’s 20th commitment in the class.  Johnson is currently on campus along with fellow 2016 prospects Ahmir Mitchell and Naseir Upshur. The commitment puts Michigan in 6th place just ahead of Alabama.

Picture: Sparty Is Hurting To Sell Tickets

Sparty will tell you the football program is healthy after a few seasons under Mark Dantonio, but shilling tickets on a billboard would tell anybody otherwise.

poor sparty

I’m not sure, is Michigan taking out billboards for football tickets?  Odd that an 11 win team can’t sell out.

Today could be a pretty big day in Michigan Football recruiting history.  It started last night with a tweet from Detroit King High School Assistant Football Coach Terel Patrick when he tweeted this…

Sources tell me he is talking about a couple of different things…the commitment of one or two of his King players to The University of Michigan and the reinstatement of Dennis Norfleet to the program after a short suspension.  The players who might commit to the the program today are 4 star CB LaVert Hill, who is already committed to Penn State and 4 star Wide Receiver, Donnie Corley.  The story is, Tyrone Wheatly walked into King and flipped all these kids who were at one point considered “MSU leans.”  Seems like Sam Webb was hinting as much in a tweet yesterday.

I’m sure we’ll find out today.  Jay Harbaugh seems to think something big is in the works, but that could be the commitment of  Farmington Harrison’s Khalid Kareem.  This kid is HUGE news on his own!

Michigan Got A CB Commitment Today.

Jim Harbaugh just keeps us guessing.  Michigan just received a commitment from 2016 or 2017 CB Benjamin St. Juste.  There isn’t much info on him, just a hudl video and some vitals.

From MgoFishBenj Juste, as he’s called, is a long, raw, athletic cornerback that uses his length and strength to bully receivers and blockers in the Great White North. But will it work down in the states? He has the look of a very good, press corner and he obviously has the raw goods that the staff believes they could mold into a productive player in the Maize and Blue.

He is the 18th commitment if he’s classified as 2016.  He’s the first CB if he’s 2017!

Michigan Gets 5 Star OL

BEN-BREDESON-140504-4

Today Michigan landed a commitment from Ben Bredeson, a five start OL from Wisconsin.

Bredeson picked Michigan over Notre Dame and Wisconsin and is currently the highest rated player in the class.  This class is shaping up to be a massive haul for offensive lineman with Eric Swenson, Michael Onwenu and now Bredeson….and the Wolverines are not done alone the offensive line as they are currently believed to be the leader for Terrance Davis as well. This is clearly a return to “man ball” for Michigan as it appears Harbaugh wants to push people around and mash B1G defenses. While Bredeson is the the first big domino to fall, he certainly will not be the last.  There is plenty of evidence that Michigan will continue their recruiting momentum through the month of June. With the Bredeson commitment, the Wolverines are not ranked 10th in the team recruiting ranking, up from 13th this morning.

Michigan Moving Up In The Recruiting Rankings!

Print

There is no doubt Michigan football recruiting is on a roll.  The Wolverines have jumped 17 spots in the Yahoo Sports team rankings in the last week and most of it is directly related to “Summer Swarm.”

The satellite camps have opened the flood gates from Alabama to Florida to Southern California.

Currently Michigan is ranked 13th in the team rankings and that is before the big gun start committing.  This class could be a top 5 class if they land even a couple of the top players they are in on, including Rashan Gary, Ben Bredeson, Terrance Davis and others.
