KSL.com has published a story about Taysom Hill potentially transferring to Michigan. While the BYU QB hasn’t made any decisions regarding his future, there is mounting speculation that Hill’s days in Salt Lake City are finished. If Hill decided to leave BYU, he would be eligible next season.
One possibility could be playing for Jim Harbaugh at Michigan, which starts a senior quarterback who transferred in for this season. Hill signed to play for Harbaugh at Stanford but never went there and transferred upon returning from a church mission after the coach left to take over for the San Francisco 49ers.
“I would tell Taysom to do the best thing for Taysom,” Doman said. “If Michigan comes knocking and you’ve got a fifth opportunity to play quarterback for Jim Harbaugh, and that’s the best thing for Taysom Hill then he should go do that for sure.”
I don’t think Michigan is in the market for a QB with Wilton Speight and John O’Korn on the roster for next season, not to mention Shane Morris, Alex Malzone, Zach Gentry and incoming freshman Brandon Peters. Barring any position shifts (cough, cough) from Gentry or others, they seem to be stocked at QB. I’d look for more grad transfer linebackers to join the team than quarterbacks.
